Leadership that fits your moment

FRACTIONAL OR INTERIM engagements for mission-driven organisationS: Senior capacity without the lag or price tag

The need for senior executive leadership does not always come with the time or certainty to make a permanent hire. A leadership gap. A founder at capacity. A critical initiative that cannot wait. A transition that needs an experienced hand. In these moments, fractional and interim leadership offers something permanent hiring cannot: senior executive capacity, embedded in your team, calibrated to your actual situation, and ready to execute from day one.

Fractional and Interim Leadership 1

Fractional and interim leadership gives you access to 15 years of social innovation experience at a fraction of the cost and commitment of a full-time hire. The expertise is identical; the configuration is bespoke.

You are  in the right place if you are…

A founder or CEO who

  • Is overstretched and becoming the bottleneck of your own organisation
  • Needs a senior leader to take real accountability for a function or area
  • Is not ready for a full-time hire but needs more than advice or coaching
  • Wants someone embedded in the team, driving things forward and sharing the load

Funders and supporting organisations with mission-driven ventures in their portfolio are welcome to get in touch.

A board or hiring organisation that

  • Is navigating a leadership gap or executive transition
  • Is launching a new initiative that needs experienced leadership to build the foundations
  • Wants to test the fit before committing to a full-time mandate
  • Needs senior capacity without the full cost and lag of a permanent hire

The modalities

Fractional and interim: what each one means

Fractional leadership

A part-time executive engagement, fully embedded in your team. Valeria works as an integral part of your leadership, representing the organisation and accountable for her area of responsibility. This is not consulting from the outside: she is in the room, on the calls and part of the team.

Best when: You need ongoing senior executive presence but are not yet at the stage of a full-time hire. The engagement has no defined end date and evolves as the organisation does.

Interim leadership

A temporary full-time or near full-time engagement for a defined period. Valeria steps in to provide leadership continuity, launch a new initiative or stabilise an organisation navigating a critical moment,  then hands over once the mandate is complete.

Best when: You have a time-bound leadership need: a gap to bridge, a transition to navigate or a critical initiative to get off the ground. The engagement has a defined arc and a clear handover point.

Fractional and Interim Leadership 4

Why Valeria?

Fractional and interim leadership is only as good as the person doing it. The value is not in the configuration: it is in the depth of experience, the speed of pattern recognition and the quality of execution being brought from day one.

Founder's grit, executive rigour

Valeria has built and led organisations from scratch in both the Global South and North, across sectors, scales and economic cycles. She knows what it takes to navigate complexity from the inside, not as an observer but as the person accountable for the outcome. Peers have described her as bringing McKinsey-level strategic clarity and operational rigour, without the ego.

Pattern recognition that accelerates everything

Having operated simultaneously as founder, executive leader, board member and adviser across diverse contexts, she reads complex situations quickly, identifies leverage points others miss and helps organisations focus their limited resources on what actually moves things forward.

Steady under pressure

Recognised consistently by peers for the calm, principled presence she brings in moments of institutional tension, crisis and uncertainty. She stabilises systems without losing sight of the mission and is known for the civil courage to name what needs to be named.

She builds capacity, not dependency

Her goal in every engagement is to leave the organisation stronger than she found it. She builds the systems, cultures and leadership capacity that allow organisations to keep moving forward after she is gone.

What to expect?
Senior leadership, fully committed

Every engagement begins with a thorough conversation to understand the organisation, the mandate and the moment. Nothing is assumed and nothing is standardised. Scope, rhythm, duration and configuration are designed around what the situation actually requires.

Fractional and interim engagements with Valeria are not lighter versions of executive leadership. They are senior leadership calibrated to your timeline and context, with the same depth of commitment and strategic rigour she would bring to a full-time mandate.

Voices of Peers and Team

Perspectives from visionary peers and dedicated teams I’ve had the privilege to lead and learn from.

“While she clearly leads from the heart, what I find remarkable is that [Valeria] brings the kind of structured, analytical, and systems-level thinking you’d associate with McKinsey or Bain… I genuinely Googled her to see if she was ex-McKinsey because her strategic clarity and operational rigour were so strong… High-level strategic thinking without ego, in service of the greater good. It’s really an exceptional combination.”

Bram van Eijk

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn How it Works!

What is the difference between fractional and interim leadership?

Fractional leadership is an ongoing part-time engagement with no defined end date. Valeria is embedded in your team, represents the organisation and holds real accountability for her area of responsibility. Interim leadership is a temporary full-time or near full-time engagement for a defined period, typically to bridge a transition, launch a new initiative or stabilise an organisation through a critical moment.

Is this right for a small or early-stage organisation?

Yes. Fractional and interim leadership can be particularly well suited to early-stage and growing organisations that need senior executive capacity but are not yet ready for or certain about a full-time hire. The scope, rhythm and time commitment are designed around what the organisation actually needs.

How quickly can Valeria get up to speed?

Pattern recognition built across 15 years of founding, leading and advising organisations across sectors, stages and geographies means she reads complex situations quickly and identifies leverage points without a long onboarding period. Every engagement begins with a thorough diagnostic conversation to ensure alignment from the start.

How much time does a fractional engagement require?

This depends entirely on the scope and moment. Scope, rhythm and time commitment are discussed and agreed as part of the initial conversation and designed around what the organisation actually needs. There is no standard template.

Does Valeria work in person or remotely?

Both. Valeria is based in France and globally active. The format is adapted to what serves the engagement and the organisation best.

In what languages can Valeria work?

English, French and Italian. Working understanding of Spanish.

What happens after I reach out?

Valeria responds to every enquiry personally and will suggest a short introductory conversation to explore fit and availability. There is no obligation and no pressure.
